<image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>NOT JUST ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION… Why this work matters… Being autistic or ADHD (or both) in a world built for neurotypical people is exhausting. Being a neurodivergent woman comes with its own particular brand of struggle, especially if you're late-diagnosed. You've likely spent your whole life learning to mask, to perform, to mould yourself to fit into spaces that were never designed for you (and weren't always all that comfortable). And then you get diagnosed (or figured it out yourself), and suddenly everything makes sense... but also nothing makes sense. There's grief. There's anger. There's confusion about who you even are without the mask you've unwittingly worn almost your entire life. And then there's the question of... "now what?" This is complex, identity-altering stuff. You want to understand yourself and your diagnosis better, and start making things feel easier! That takes support from someone who genuinely gets it, can help you figure out what you need and (realistically) how to get there, and makes sessions feel less like therapy and more like talking with someone who just gets you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Fees - Using MEDICARE</image:title>
<image:caption>For those with a Mental Health Care Plan (see below for information), Medicare will provide you with a rebate of $141.85 (as of July 1st 2024). The out-of-pocket fee is thereby reduced to $128.15 during business hours or $168.15 for after-hours appointments. The fee must be paid in full at the completion of each appointment, after which I send your claim to Medicare and your rebate will be processed. You will also receive a copy of your receipt.</image:caption>

<image:title>Fees - Using NDIS</image:title>
<image:caption>Individuals wanting to use their NDIS funding may only do so if they are “self-managed” or “plan-managed”. Unfortunately, those who are NDIS agency-managed cannot use their funding towards their fees. For those who are plan-managed, invoices will be sent directly to your plan manager at the completion of each appointment. If you are self-managed, the fee is payable at the completion of your appointment and the receipt will be sent directly to you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Fees - PRIVATE Health Funds</image:title>
<image:caption>If you have private health insurance, some of your appointment costs may be covered. The gap (i.e., the remaining fee after your private health insurance) will vary depending on the health fund provider and level of cover. Please check with your health fund to determine whether you are entitled to any rebate (and if so, how much) for psychology services. The fee must be paid in full at the completion of each appointment, and you will receive a copy of your receipt that you can pass on to your private health fund.</image:caption>

<image:title>Fees - Cancellation Policy</image:title>
<image:caption>Need to reschedule or cancel your appointment? While I understand that life does not always run to plan, and things pop up (oh boy do I get it!), I do ask you to keep in mind that when we make an appointment, I reserve that time aside, totally dedicated to you. Therefore, should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, I ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Without this notice, you lose your time, I lose my time (and the time I spent planning and curating your appointment), and the clients waiting on my waiting list lose out on a much-needed chance for that time. For this reason, the following cancellation policy is in place. A $50 fee will be charged for a cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice. The full fee will be charged for cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice and for any appointment that has been missed with no notice (non-attendance).</image:caption>

<image:title>Fees - Referral Information</image:title>
<image:caption>Self-referral You do not need a doctor’s/health professional’s referral to see a psychologist. You can simply decide it is something you’d like to access and reach out – what we would call, self-referral. Medicare’s ‘Better Access’ scheme To access appointments as part of a Mental Health Care Plan (where you are allowed up to 10 visits per year partially covered by Medicare) you will need to speak with your general practitioner or psychiatrist. They can provide you with a referral and Mental Health Care Plan, which you/your provider need to email to me at the time of booking or prior to your appointment. Without doing this, you will not be able to access your rebate.</image:caption>

<image:title>Therapy with Cara - How I Work…</image:title>
<image:caption>I'm gonna be honest...I'm not interested in being the distant, neutral therapist sitting across from you taking notes. That's not helpful, and frankly, it's not me. My approach? I create a space where you can actually drop the mask. Where you can turn your camera off mid-session if you need to, show up in your PJs surrounded by your soft toys, or tell me halfway through that you've hit capacity - and it's genuinely no big deal. I've had clients share things with me they've never told another soul, and been stunned when I don't blink. This isn't about being your friend (ethically, I can't be - even though it often feels that way, and my clients and I joke about how in another life, we'd probably be great friends) - but it is about creating the kind of ease where you look forward to sessions instead of dreading them. Where you don't have to perform or explain or justify. Where you can just... be.</image:caption>

<image:title>Therapy with Cara - WHAT HAPPENS Next</image:title>
<image:caption>I run my practice entirely via telehealth, which means I work with clients both in Australia (where I am based) AND internationally across Europe, the United Kingdom, and other countries worldwide (excluding the USA and Canada due to insurance restrictions). If you're ready for therapy: Reach out via email and we can go from there. I want you to feel confident that I'm the right therapist for you, so I'm happy to answer any questions or arrange a consultation call if that would be helpful. If you're not quite ready (or I don't have availability at the moment, or you're based somewhere I can't practice):Sign up for my email list. I share resources, insights, and tools specifically for late-diagnosed autistic, ADHD and AuDHD women. I'm also developing mini courses that you can access regardless of where you're located or whether you're working with me in therapy. Not sure where to start? That's okay. Sign up for my free email series where I walk you through the most common questions and experiences of late-diagnosed women. It's a gentle, validating introduction to understanding yourself through an autism/ADHD lens – and a good way to get to know me and see if we'd be a good fit. The world wasn't built for your brain. But that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your brain. Let's figure out what actually works for you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Telehealth - Therapy from your SAFE SPACE</image:title>
<image:caption>I run my practice entirely via telehealth, which means our sessions happen wherever you feel most comfortable - your couch, your bed, your car, a quiet corner of your office. You choose. We can meet via secure video through my private practice software, or if you prefer, we can do the whole session over the phone. Your call.</image:caption>

<image:title>Telehealth - Why Telehealth Works So Well for Autistic & ADHD Women</image:title>
<image:caption>Here's the thing about telehealth that I absolutely love: you get to show up exactly as you are, in a space you control. No masking in waiting rooms. No fluorescent lights. No unfamiliar sensory experiences. No judgment about how you're sitting, what you're wearing, or what you're doing with your hands. You can: Stim, pace, fidget, or rock without anyone batting an eye Surround yourself with your soft toys, weighted blanket, or whatever brings you comfort Turn your camera off if you need to focus on talking, not performing Wear your PJs (seriously, many of my clients do) Control the lighting, temperature, and background noise Have your pet nearby for regulation Move around your space however you need to Take the session from wherever works for you that day No travel. No parking stress. No transition overwhelm. Your session fits into your day with minimal disruption. Some of my clients take sessions curled up on their couch. Some sit at their desk with their fidget toys. Some pace around their room. Some turn off the camera entirely and just talk. Some are in their car in a parking lot because it's the only quiet space they have that day. All of that? Completely okay. Actually, more than okay - it's exactly what I want. I want you comfortable so we can do the actual work.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6838951c7ac89639bb0f70f2/3532b7f9-f187-45f4-9051-2fb219a42dc2/pexels-vlada-karpovich-4050415.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>Telehealth - HOW IT actually works</image:title>
<image:caption>Phone sessions: I call you at our scheduled time. That's it. Video sessions: You'll get an email with a Zoom link the day before our session. Click it at session time and I'll be waiting. Zoom will ask if you want to use your browser or download the app - totally up to you, both work perfectly. No account to create, no fuss. You'll just need a phone or computer, decent internet (for video), and somewhere you feel comfortable talking. Tech issues? We can always switch to phone mid-session if video isn't cooperating. No stress. What About Privacy? All sessions are completely private and confidential - same as in-person therapy. If you need to take your session from your car, a closed bedroom, or wherever gives you privacy, that works perfectly fine. If you live with family or housemates and need strategies for privacy, we can figure that out together.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6838951c7ac89639bb0f70f2/81c54511-4b1f-416a-8af6-50e557a08947/pexels-vlada-karpovich-4050430.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>Telehealth</image:title>
<image:caption>After-Hours Sessions I offer (limited) after-hours appointments, which means you can schedule sessions after work, after the kids are in bed, or whenever works for your life. Telehealth makes flexibility actually possible. Still Not Sure? I get it - if you've never done telehealth before, it might feel a bit weird at first. That's normal. But I promise it becomes second nature quickly. In fact, my clients pretty quickly tell me they'd stick with telehealth even if in-person became an option - it just works better for them. And honestly? The freedom to be yourself in your own space usually outweighs any initial awkwardness pretty fast.</image:caption>

<image:title>Assessments - Autism Assessment with COMPREHENSIVE REPORT</image:title>
<image:caption>This option is suitable for those seeking formal identification of autism with a thorough report. This service includes a diagnostic interview, comprehensive report and formal feedback session. You will meet with me twice in total. The diagnostic session will take up to three hours, and the feedback session will be another 50 minutes. Prior to meeting with me, you will be sent a range of online assessments and forms to complete that are part of the assessment process. These need to be returned to me at least one to two weeks before the diagnostic assessment. The fee for this service is $1,950, which covers my time for scoring and interpreting assessment tools and data, preparing for the sessions, hosting the sessions and writing the report. A report will be sent to you 6-8 weeks after your assessment, at which time we will also schedule a feedback session.</image:caption>

<image:title>Post-Diagnosis Guide</image:title>
<image:caption>You're Exhausted, Confused, and Overwhelmed. That Makes Sense. You finally have your diagnosis (or you're pretty sure you're autistic/ADHD even without the official paperwork). You thought understanding would bring relief - and maybe it did for a minute. But now you're sitting here thinking... okay, so NOW what? You're burnt out. You're questioning everything about who you are. You don't know what you actually need or where to even start. And honestly? Most of the information out there is either too surface-level to be useful or so overwhelming you can't absorb any of it. That's where this guide comes in. It walks you through the five things almost every late-diagnosed woman needs to understand first: why you're so damn tired (masking and burnout), the identity crisis no one warned you about, why your nervous system works the way it does, what real connection actually feels like, and what support looks like when it actually fits you. This isn't everything you'll ever need to know. But it's where you start when you don't know what to do next.</image:caption>
